May Giveaway Day Apron

This sweet apron features Joel Dewberry Sparrows from the Aviary collection and two coordinates. I have to say I spent an obscene amount of time on what should have been a pretty easy apron. I now affectionately measure yards of bias binding in "light-yards" (like light-years) which is equivalent to the amount of yards of bias binding it FELT like I made.

Comment below for a chance to win! I'll pick a few of my favorite comments and let my daughter draw the winner. Be sure you input your email address in the comments form so I can notify you.

I love you because 1) you're in CO and that's where I'm from! 2) you're a birth professional, and I have three boys (#1 c-section) and #2 and #3 were VBACs!!!!

The contrast between the fabrics is just stellar. A job well done - I've been there, done that on the bias tape. Stinks !

I have a friend who collects aprons so I've been looking for contests where I might win one for her - this one, with the sparrow, is so nice I want it for myself

Lovely apron. It's a pleasure to meet you. It's such pressure to post a witty or memorable comment. Sheesh! I'll share what's playing on my ITunes player right. It's a funny little combination:
Hi Five, "Just another Girlfriend"
Biz Markie "Just a Friend"

I did a search on "Just a friend", and those two came up.

Now that is a beautiful apron. I'd keep it for myself but my sister (who loves handmade items of all kinds) has been wanting an apron!! :)

I just recently found out about the Joel Dewberry line and was instantly hooked. This is a great way of showcasing the print while baking cupcakes or something lighter for summer, strawberry shortcake or a cobbler?

The sewing kit you found at the antique store is really cute. There's a pattern in Sew Darn Cute that's similar to this that I've been wanting to make.

Thanks for hosting this great giveaway, it's wonderful!!!

Wow - those fabrics look lovely together. I've been getting into baking lately - an apron would be great!

I keep saying that I am going to make an apron so that I stop wiping my hands on my pants or my kids, but I should probably just enter for this super-cute one. Who knows when I would get around to making one!! Shawna:)

Aprons and bias trim are sooooo time-consuming! But so worth it. Love your color combo. I'm the queen of aprons and would love to add another one to my collection! s_soapeatyahoodotcom

The apron is lovely and it sounds like your sewing went like mine often does--taking a bit too long for what it is.

I love your daughter's moniker for where you were staying for your family reunion--"Ho and Tell". Was she trying to say something about the neighborhood? ;-) It sounds kind of like it should be a place for group therapy for hookers. (Sorry, couldn't resist!)

Did you get this apron patter out of the book "A is for Apron"? I think I just finished making the exact same apron, except your fabric is so much cooler, but I know what you mean about making miles and miles of bias. Thanks for the giveaway.

thanks so muchfor the generous giveaway!
i just made my daughter an apron and i'm a horrible seamstress. she tried to act all surprised and happy, but it was awful! i should send you a picture of it for a good laugh. i put ruffles all over it and it looks like someone barfed all over it.
my mom taught a sewing class but didn't like us very much so she taught perfect strangers instead of us. i'll have to go take a class from someone else's mom!!!

Cute apron! Thanks for offering something so lovely! Very generous. I was thinking today in my studio that an apron might be a good idea. I was doing some block carvings and printing them on fabric. I live in Colorado, too, so if I"m so lucky to be chosen, your postage won't be too bad!
